October Women’s Start-Up Club:  Recovering from Disaster with Tracey Northcott

How do you recover when disaster strikes your business; encounter a PR or financial disaster, lose clients, your reputation, and your platforms to conduct business? How do you face a backlash of personal attacks, demands for compensation and stare down the barrel of bankruptcy and litigation. In 2013, Tracey Northcott faced all of these issues.

Every small business has an element of risk, success and failure, celebration and disappointment. But what keeps business owners from giving up? Do they have a particular mindset, unique business acumen, or a talent for strategic planning? Or just the ability to pick up scraps of good luck and turn them into action and currency?

In the next meeting of the FEW WSC, Tracey will tell us how she remained resilient, optimistic and forward facing, and managed to continue amid a snowballing business disaster. She will also share how she keeps innovating, generating business ideas and meeting the demands of her customers and stakeholders.

Tracey has experienced it all and came out smiling. She not only sustained and diversified her business, with a break-neck pace in technology, she has also started new ventures, which allowed her husband to quit his job, join her in the business and enjoy financial success, all while being a mother.

Tracey Northcott is the VP of International Communication for Enfour, a family business that develops Apps for mobile phones. She is a regular Blogger at Keitaigoddess.com and remains at the cutting edge of technological development. She is a long time member and regular attendee of FEW, and has been featured in Tokyo Weekender and Being a Broad. Tracey is a 15-year permanent resident of Japan, and a parent to a five-year old boy along with her husband whom she met climbing Mount Fuji.

She is a survivor and a bona fide entrepreneur, while thriving in her business.
Yes, Tracey is one of a kind!!!
