Moderator Léa Perceval
Léa was born and grew up in Haiti before moving to Canada, where she graduated from the University of Montreal with a bachelor’s degree in political communication. She is working at the Haitian Embassy in Japan as a Councilor.
Prior to coming to Japan, she worked in Haiti as a Political Attaché at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in Montreal she worked in the fields of communication, marketing, and sales for various institutions.
Co-moderator Terri MacMillan
After working for a decade in music compilation contract administration in New York City, Terri packed up 13 boxes and a bicycle and moved to Japan where she has now resided for 26 years. She started as a co-manager of a Japanese music artist called Pizzicato Five then moved onto working for Apple for decades. But never gave up her creative life which she has now restarted with a newsletter, podcast, and more.
Speaker – Georgia Emmett
Hey, I’m Georgia! I’m a social media manager specialising in branding and community building. I found my love for the online world through my first youtube channel which I grew to over 9000 subscribers and over 1 million views. I’ve now worked in social media professionally for 3 years and recently started my own agency after moving to Japan. My mission is to help female entrepreneurs harness the power of social media to grow their business!

Speaker – Victoria Close
Victoria Close is the founder and designer at Bikudesigns, a vintage kimono jewellery brand based in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo. She creates one-of-a-kind jewellery and accessories using personally-sourced vintage and antique fabrics and other found objects. Victoria’s ‘mottainai’ mission is to save forgotten items from landfill by giving them new life.
Victoria is a passionate campaigner for small businesses having taught practical, in-person small business courses as well as serving on the FEW Women’s Start-up Club board. Victoria is the founder of Overseas Makers Guild, a free Facebook community established to support, connect and celebrate creative small business owners. Victoria co-founded Tokyo Instamingle in 2017 as a way for Instagrammers in Japan to take their online presence offline and connect in real life over coffee. She mentors creative entrepreneurs in her one-to-one programs as well as teaching online practical business courses through the Ginkgo & Fern partnership.

Speaker – Sayuri Nishimoto
Sayuri was born and raised in Kyoto and went to college in the United States. Sayuri has ten years of experience as a consultant in digital marketing for global companies, including Google, Accenture, and Linkedin. Today, she is a Live-Video commerce consultant at Bambuser and Director of Digital Marketing at Aquila PR, where she helps clients succeed in their sales/marketing goals. She also runs a Tokyo Digital Marketers Meetup in Tokyo as a co-organizer. The meetup is for Japanese/English bilingual marketers in Tokyo to connect with other marketers and learn new marketing techniques.
