Key Takeaways
What are two aspects of well-being that many women often neglect?
- Self compassion – Everyone especially women are not great at self compassion. Instead of being kind and encouraging towards themselves, women often criticize themselves when facing problems. Practicing self-compassion is crucial for overall well-being.
- Sleep – To improve sleep hygiene, it is recommended to keep a regular schedule and go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.
- Eating hygiene – Little things like chewing your food, not drinking water whilst eating, not eating in front of the screen can make a difference. Listen to what your body is saying.
- Protein – The notion that fat/protein is bad for health is inaccurate. Protein can positively impact one’s health and should be incorporated into breakfast and other meals.
What is one main lifestyle adjustment that you feel comfortable recommending to a diverse audience of women?
- Advocate for yourself if you have some health symptoms that you are experiencing
- Magnesium deficiency is common in women which can lead to various health issues. It is recommended to consult a healthcare professional if experiencing any symptoms.
- Staying hydrated is a simple yet essential lifestyle adjustment that can improve our overall health.
- Getting enough sleep is crucial for physical and mental well-being. Establishing a consistent sleep schedule and minimizing disruptions can help improve sleep quality.
- Minimizing social media use can be beneficial for mental health. The Netflix documentary “The Social Dilemma” can be a good motivation to achieve this.
- Exercising – For those who do not enjoy traditional exercise, finding enjoyable ways to move the body can be helpful. For those who enjoy exercise, incorporating resistance training and avoiding over-exercising can be beneficial.
