Inspiration and Creativity

Each of us has a creative side just waiting to be awoken! Join us as we hear how a panel of creativity-focused women took the leap to turn their creative passions into their life's work.

Thursday May 11th / 19:00 - 22:00 / Members ¥2000 (Associates ¥1500) / Non-members (Women only) ¥5000 / Students and Interns (Women only) ¥3000 (includes light buffet and beverages)

We all have a creative side. Some of us use creativity to its fullest and make it a focus of our lives. Others enjoy being creative, but use our creativity only once in a while – to relax, to find balance or to get inspiration. For those of us who are drawn to become more creative, how do we build more creativity into our personal and professional lives?

Join us for an inspiring evening with a panel of creative women – a jewelry designer, an artist and a chocolatier – and hear their stories of how they realized that they wanted to live a creativity-centered life and how they managed to build creativity into their work against the odds, and go home with ideas about how you can use creativity for your own projects!

Henna croppedHenna Veitch, Founder of Design by Henna. Born in the UK to parents from India and Tanzania, Henna previously worked in the medical textile field, but had loved being creative, even from her childhood. Therefore, she moved from her scientific education to a textile engineering and design degree, followed by studies in interior design, color science, and fragrances. She experimented with many mediums for her jewelry designs and settled on polymer clay. Led by Henna’s passion, each piece is hand crafted and unique.

Betty croppedBetty Sayn-Wittgenstein, Chocolatier at Passion Chocolat. Between two jobs as an event manager for large institutions (banks), Betty decided to do an internship at the chocolaterie Passion Chocolat in Belgium, just for fun. That fun soon turned into her passion. She then left her comfortable and stable life in Germany for the adventure of making traditional Belgium pralines, while developing her own personality and establishing her new career.

Photo Natale-Adgnot_croppedNatale Adgnot, Visual ArtistAmerican/French artist Natale Adgnot’s aesthetic was formed at the intersection of graphic design, fashion design, and fine art. Her paintings and drawings are informed by all of these disciplines. Natale’s career has included stints at Christie’s auction house, in Paris haute couture, and teaching at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Her fascination with science and patterns – both visible and invisible – combine to create graphic and geometric compositions.
