September Meeting Recap: Women in Japan: Past, Now and Future

September 2017 MM Recap

September Monthly MeetingFEW’s 2017-2018 year kicked off with the inspirational leader Kaori Sasaki, founder and CEO of ewoman, Inc. founder and CEO of UNICUL. Inc., and the driving force behind Japan’s International Conference for Women in Business, which is now in its 22nd year.

It was an evening full of insights into her past as a journalist, as a working mother, in setting up her first company and becoming a pioneering female entrepreneur in Japan. Her presentation was enthusiastically received by FEW members and guests, and the questions she took from the audience showed the range of her activities and talents, which includes setting up a gospel choir.

For her, diversity is not just about getting more women into the workforce, but about introducing a wide range of voices and views, which will ultimately strengthen the business environment in Japan.

We were honored to welcome her as a speaker at FEW for the second time, and hear first-hand from her how things have changed in the last 16 years.
