Event Recap

An Evening of Reflection, Honesty, & Renewal for Members Across Japan

On December 18th, 2025, FEW members gathered both in person and online for an intimate evening of reflection, honesty, and renewal at Part One of our Peer-to-Peer programme: ROGUE – Transforming Resentment into Renewal. This session marked FEW’s first-ever hybrid Peer-to-Peer event, creating a shared space where members could connect deeply—whether joining from home or together at our venue in central Tokyo.

The evening focused on transforming resentment from something we suppress into something we can learn from, work with, and ultimately use to strengthen our boundaries and wellbeing.

Guided by Sarah Furuya, participants were introduced to the first half of her ROGUE framework; a structured yet deeply human approach to boundary-setting that blends psychology, systems thinking, and reflective practice. Rather than pushing for positivity or quick fixes, Sarah encouraged the group to slow down, listen deeply, and treat resentment not as a failure, but as meaningful information pointing toward change.

Throughout the evening, participants were invited into moments of reflection alongside opportunities to be heard and supported by their peers. In small, intimate groupings, members shared openly and listened deeply, reinforcing the power of peer connection and reminding participants that this work doesn’t need to be done alone.

As the session unfolded, participants were supported in noticing patterns, imagining new possibilities, and gently questioning the internal and external systems that shape how we work, relate, and care for ourselves. Across both the physical room and the online space, the tone remained reflective, validating, and deeply connected, leaving many participants feeling seen, supported, and less alone.

Overwhelming Gratitude

A heartfelt thank you to Sarah Furuya for her continued commitment to fostering community within FEW and for holding such a thoughtful, grounded space, which is no small feat in a hybrid setting.

We are also deeply grateful to the FEW members who showed up with openness, courage, and generosity. Your willingness to reflect honestly is what makes this community so powerful.

Don't Miss Part Two!

ROGUE is a two-part Peer-to-Peer experience, designed to unfold over time rather than in a single session. The second ROGUE session will take place later in the Peer-to-Peer series, as part of our broader Mind, Body, and Connection theme for this year. Together, these sessions invite members to explore not only what’s contributing to burnout, but how we can rebuild sustainable ways of caring for ourselves—through support, perspective, and community.

We're excited for our members, both new and old, to continue the journey with us and join upcoming Peer-to-Peer sessions as the series unfolds.
