Event Recap

A Revival of FEW Japan’s Networking Magic… With A Fresh Autumn Twist!

On October 5th, we hosted our Autumn Networking event at the beautiful TOMOSUBA Community Lounge in Tokyo, marking the first regional gathering of our 2025-2026 "Resilience & Renewal" year. The modern, welcoming space buzzed with energy as nearly 60 women from across Tokyo came together for an afternoon of genuine connection and community building.

A Warm Welcome

We were thrilled to welcome special guests from Women of the World, adding even more diversity to our already vibrant community. Throughout the afternoon, the flexible lounge space transformed into a hub of laughter, meaningful conversations, and new friendships forming in real time.

Autumn Mix & Match: Connection Through Color

The highlight of the afternoon was our interactive "Autumn Mix & Match" speed networking activity – three rounds of structured conversations designed to spark authentic dialogue:

Round 1: Colorful Harvest – Participants found their autumn color match and shared what they were "harvesting" this year (skills, connections, or insights gained) and what they hoped to "plant" before year's end.

Round 2: Autumn Opposites – Finding the opposite color, attendees explored how their professional backgrounds differed from expectations and discovered curiosity about industries they knew nothing about.

Round 3: Birthday Seasons – Matching birthday months, participants reflected on interesting insights from the afternoon and considered what "season" their professional life was experiencing.

This thoughtful structure moved conversations beyond typical small talk, and encouraged attendees to speak with people they have never met before.

More Time to Connect

Following the structured activities, the event opened into free networking time. Women continued conversations over refreshments, exchanged contact information, and explored potential collaborations.

We also took time to introduce the 2025-2026 Board of Directors and share our annual theme of "Resilience & Renewal" – emphasizing authentic connection and collaborative support as we move into this new chapter together.

Huge Thanks All Around

A heartfelt thank you to all our individual and corporate members for investing in our mission. Your support makes events like these possible and helps us continue building a community where English-speaking women in Japan can connect and thrive.

We're grateful to everyone who joined us for this warm autumn gathering. It was wonderful to welcome potential new members into the FEW community, and we look forward to seeing familiar faces and new ones at our upcoming events throughout the year!

Special thanks to TOMOSUBA for sharing their space, and to JUSTICE, 16 TYPE, and Yumm Cupcake Bakery for their generous donations that made this event extra special.

What’s Next?

The afternoon concluded with exciting announcements about upcoming FEW Japan events, including our next regional networking event in Kyoto in November. We're actively seeking community members to help co-host this Kansai gathering!
